Counselor
From Troy Smith:
I am honored to be the new counselor at Martin and serving in this new role after over 20 years of classroom teaching. Most recently I have been teaching 5th grade at Meadowlark. I am looking forward to serving you and your child in a variety of ways including: academics, career exploration, and social and emotional development. My approach as the school counselor will be to foster trusting relationships with students by providing them a safe place to work together on navigating challenges, developing social skills, and reaching personal/academic goals. My schedule will vary on a daily basis, as I will be teaching the 3rd-5th grade counselor lessons. I will be teaching each class once every four days. I will also be meeting with small groups or individuals as needed throughout the day. I look forward to working with parents/guardians, teachers, and school administration to foster this positive environment.
