Counselor

From Brandy Gaddis:

Hello! I am so happy to be the student success teacher for the new school year. This will be my 22nd year of working in education. I taught 1st grade the last 12 years here at Martin. This is my 2nd year as a student success teacher, and I am so excited! I am lucky to still be able to teach, as I will be teaching K-2 Guidance classes. I will also be working with some small groups on study skills and school success skills. I look forward to working with students, parents, teachers and school administration to have a great school year!

Small groups topics we plan to offer this year include (others to come):

  • Social Skills
  • Self-Esteem
  • Anger Management/Cool Down Skills
  • Friendship
  • Organization

From Kay Lynn Lambke:

I am excited to join Robert Martin Elementary School as a part-time counselor, sharing the position with Suzi Thien.

My career in education began as a high school English and journalism teacher, and I have also worked as a high school counselor and administrator. I retired in 2020 from Andover Central Middle School after ten years as a counselor there.

Being a school counselor is -in my opinion- the best job in education because it allows me to support kids, teachers, and parents in both big and small ways every day. This year at RMES, I will be focusing on small groups and individual counseling for grades K-5. My regular days will be Wednesday and Thursday but you may find me here at other times as well.

From Kay Lynn Lambke:

How wonderful to be back at Robert Martin Elementary! I was the counselor here from 1999-2008 and then left to lead Sunlight Children's Advocacy and Right Foundation (now Sunlight Children's Services). After retiring from there in 2018, I came back to Andover Schools to work with the district counselors and to create the opportunity for students to receive in-district therapy. I will now be one of the counselors at Martin and am excited to be sharing the position with Kay Lynn Lambke.

I will be providing classroom guidance for grades 3-5 as well as individual counseling for grades K-5. I will usually be at the school on Mondays and Tuesdays. I look forward to working with and meeting the students, teachers, and families of Martin. Please come by to say hello!
