We have many fun and exciting things planned in Kindergarten!  Every year I am anxious to get started and watch your child grow! You will be surprised at how fast these 180 days go and all your child's successes during this time! Kindergarten is such a wonderful 'first' year of school. Each child will blossom at his/her own pace in and our classroom, which runs on alternative seating arrangements that provides each student with a successful place to do their best work. Our classroom is full of love, laughter, and learning, all intertwined with group work, singing, boogie and brain breaks (through, music (Disney, Kidz Bop, Classical and Instrumental), messy art projects, glitter, and hands-on learning! We are always on the go in our room and our learning can get quite loud! Kindergarteners love to use clipboards, build forts for flashlight reading or work on the floor. I love all the excitement that learning and group activities bring to our classroom. I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us.

I am originally from Springfield, MO. I graduated from Missouri State University in  1988.   Then I received my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University in 1998.  I moved to Wichita for my first teaching job 29 years ago to teach first grade.  In 1994, I moved to Andover and began teaching second grade  I have taught kindergarten, first, second and third grade. I enjoyed each grade I taught, but my heart is with kinders!

I truly love teaching and learning. I hope to help develop my students into life long learners with a passion for learning too. Communication between us is of the utmost importance, so please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or happy thoughts! I look forward to teaching your child and having them reach his/her fullest potential in our loving classroom. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to a fantastic year!
